GENERAL INSTALLER

Company Description: Welcome to Funovation, where we create heart-pounding addictive attractions that require brain & brawn! Four of us founded this creative company to design, manufacture, market and install amusement attractions based on cool ideas that would be fun to try.  We create products that are Fun, Innovative, Safe and High-quality.  The first line of attractions is the Laser Maze Challenge™.  This is an attraction that sets up a web of lasers and times participants navigating their way through them.  For example, imagine being a jewel thief having to navigate through a web of lasers to capture a priceless jewel and then returning through the maze to safety and pressing a button at the end, determining your time.

Attitude: A General Installer will be representing our company to our customer. This person must present Funovation’s fundamental values in every situation; Professional, Fun and Innovative. All installers must have a “can do” attitude. If a situation arises where there is a problem that the General Installer cannot resolve, the General Installer needs to defer to the Master Installer for direction. However, if there is a minor discrepancy, the General Installer should be able to make a minor, on-the-spot change and continue to satisfy the customer knowing that they have the support of the Master Installer as well as the team “back home.”

Teamwork: Must be able to work well with other installers and communicate status and concerns with the customer in a positive manner. Must be able to follow the directions of the Master Installer and complete individual tasks independently or efficiently work with other installers to complete 2-person tasks in order to accomplish the install quickly with very high confidence and quality.

Trouble-shooting skills:
Find loose connections, bad solder joints, and mis-wired cables
Alignment of fixtures, lights
Help document system installation for future remote debug
Diagnose bad components, modules, cabling so as to not waste time or resources replacing good parts
Basic understanding of optical appliances; care & maintenance of optical devices

Technical skills:
Electrical wiring, Low voltage as well as knowledge of power (120VAC)
Cat-5 termination
Trouble-shoot electrical connections, cable mis-wires
Snaking wires
Replacing bad components in a system
General construction knowledge– framing, drywall, carpentry, painting
To be intimately familiar with the Laser Maze system
To be able to lead the customer through a system training
Safe use of power and hand tools
Follow plans including reading measurements and translating to the customer’s space

Quality: The General Installer is responsible for the quality of the installation and take pride in such.

Background: Ideal candidate will have a good basic knowledge of home and commercial construction. Ideally at least 2 years direct professional experience as well as non-professional experience in a non-commercial area (home repair, remodeling, volunteer work). Ideally at least 1 year experience working on a team to complete installations and working with a foreman. Some basic computer knowledge is a must.

Travel: This position requires travel. Domestic and international installs will be available. Each installation is expected to be about 2-3 days with 2 installers.
